The Journey Continues…
Welcome to the new website for the Center for Secular and Postmodern Ministries (CSPS) based out of the Global Missions Office at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. The CSPS is taking on a new direction. We’ve heard your needs as well as your ideas and now we’re putting the concepts into practice.
One of the most common needs that we heard about was for more resources and a heightened level of awareness as to what is happening in the world as it pertains to ministries making an impact with people in the secular-postmodern mindset. Let me explain some of the features of this site and the thought that went behind it.
When you visit the site you will see a clear layout that should be easy to navigate. The homepage will serve as a blog that will be updated regularly with various stories, thoughts, devotionals, events, etc. You will see a quick recap of both comments and recent posts on the side bar and a search bar is set to provide an easy search of key words/topics that you may be looking for. Other features include:
Resource Page –
- Book Reviews - On this page you will find reviews of the latest books on culture and church and how they intersect. When you come across a book that really impacted your worldview, submit a simple book review and we’ll get it up on the site.
- On Location – This section will feature various ministries and misters around the globe who are parishioners in the field of relevant, life changing ministry. As this site continues to develop, it is our vision to see this page categorized by the various regions of the world—filled with insights as to what is working and what’s not.
- YouTube Feed – our new YouTube page (www.youtube.com/impactingchurch) will feed directly onto the site. As momentum picks up we will be featuring various ministries from around the world who are effectively making an impact with this particular audience. Capturing these ministers and ministries on film will give you a visual overview of what’s happening around the globe.
- Twitter Feed – a Twitter account as been created (www.twitter.com/theCSPS) where we will be posting information about resources available as well as some somewhat provocative thoughts thrown in from time to time.
- Team Page – We need YOU! That’s right, if you have a ministry that is impacting the life of secular and postmodern people, we would love to hear about it. We are looking to expand our team page to include regional practitioners who are in the thick of this important ministry. Please contact us ASAP if you are such a person or know of someone who is or a ministry that is making it happen!
- Contact Page – We are here to be of service to you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to be in touch with you right away.
So that is the quick overview. This website is like an organism in that it will grow and develop over time. It is here to be a resource and tool for you. Please keep us posted if there are events, resources, developmental issues, ministries, ideas, etc. that we should know about. We look forward to building this team with you!
